Description
Byron's house was built by the government in 1902, when a dam was being built adjacent to it on the Withlacoochee River in Crystal River, Florida. The house was for workers who were building the dam. Byron's father bought it around 1939 and added sections onto it. Byron grew up in this house, left when he went to Florida State University as a freshman. He lived away until his dad became ill and elderly; then he and his wife returned to take care of his dad. Since then, his father passed, and years later, his wife passed. He now lives there alone. His life has come full circle.
